Guelaguetza Restaurante
Welcome to Guelaguetza Restaurante, a Mexican culinary gem located in the heart of Los Angeles. Known for its authentic Oaxacan cuisine, this restaurant offers a wide array of traditional dishes that will tantalize your taste buds.
From Aguas Frescas to Family Style platters and Seafood delicacies, Guelaguetza Restaurante has something for everyone. The Horchata, sweetened rice-based drink topped with fresh cantaloupe and chopped walnuts, is a refreshing option for beverage lovers.
For appetizers, indulge in the Molotes de Papa con Chorizo, a crispy corn-based pastry filled with potatoes and chorizo, served with guacamole or refried black bean sauce. The Oaxacan Tacos, served on handmade tortillas with your choice of Oaxacan meat toppings, are also a must-try.
Don't miss out on the traditional Oaxacan entrees like Chiles Rellenos, Oaxaca's own chile de agua stuffed with chicken picadillo or cheese, dipped in an egg and flour batter, and fried to perfection. The Seafood offerings, including Sopa de Mariscos and Caldo de Camarón, showcase the rich flavors of Mexican coastal cuisine.
As a food reviewer of Restaurant World, I have had the pleasure of experiencing the vibrant atmosphere and delectable dishes at Guelaguetza Restaurante. The live musicians add to the lively ambiance, though the music may be a bit loud for some diners.

By far, the best Mexican restaurant we've eaten at in LA. Dubbed the 'mole queen' of LA for good reason! Their mole dishes are some of the best I've had! The restaurant is quite spacious but you should still make reservations as they get packed. We were seated indoors and I have to say, the live musicians were a little too loud for us to have a proper conversation but we didn't mind too much because we were all focused on how good the food was! I got to try a tlayuda for the first time here but honestly, the mole negro is what I'd come back for.

The food was delicious, even the crickets. (yes, there is an appetizer with crickets. They're pretty tasty) A large sprawling restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. They serve up Oaxacan style Mexican. It's different than the mostly Sonoran and Baja style we are used to in California. Lots of Mole variants, fresh and delicious, prepared daily. The band was a little too loud on Saturday night, but the music was good. Service was quick and efficient, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food. It's definitely worth a try if you're an adventurous eater.

If you're looking for the best Oaxaqueña food, this place is a must-visit. The parrillada is my top choice, but the chiles rellenos and tacos de barbacoa are also fantastic. Honestly, everything here is delicious, depending on your taste. If it's your first time and you haven't tried authentic Mexican food, ask your waiter to explain the dishes. The staff is friendly and quick. We've been coming here for years and highly recommend it. Their breakfast is great, and the mixed drinks are worth trying. I recommend the garra de tigre and the micheladas.

I came here with a party of 7 and we had a fun time here. The atmosphere is really lively, they had live musicians performing, admittedly it was a bit tooo loud for me I had to yell to talk to people in my party. This is a good spot for big groups, the servers are really efficient and good at dealing with large parties. My group got the Botana Oaxaqueña and Mole Negro as well as several different cocktails. The mole was my favorite part of the meal, it was so rich and the meat was so tender. I think the family meal was fun for us to try a lot of different things, but when I come back and ordering for just myself, I'd really prefer to stick to the mole ;)
